Before I can work out the placement of structures, fields, woods etc, I really need to work out where the road is going to go and to do this I need the bridge in situ to anchor that end of the road.
After looking at the various options, I opted for the Ancorton road bridge as I have never used any of their kits before. The kit in question is a laser cut wooden single track road bridge,NBR2. The main structure is laser cut from plywood and the road surface and underneath of the bridge are cut from card.
It was an easy build, which went together very accurately and reasonably quickly.
I painted it using the same acrylic colours used for the platform and station.
Having the bridge constructed enables me the work out where the outside embankment needed to reach to and this was built up using insulation board as used for the rest of the layout.
Next is to finish plaster bandaging the rest of the layout before fixing the bridge and marking out the roadway.
